Spring Dance Concert 2020 Student Choreographer Auditions

Event Details

Auditions/Interviews of Student Choreography for the Spring Student Dance Concert will take place:

Monday January 27th, 2020 in the Dance Studio Rm 615.  

Audition/Interviews will take place every 15 minutes.

If interested please prepare the following:

1) Make an appointment with concert director Dana Maue by emailing dmaue@swccd.edu

2) Prepare 1:30 minutes of choreography and present it to the committee with your selected music.

3) Discuss your ideas, theme, costumes and intent of your choreography.

Selected student choreographers will be notified by Sunday, January 29th.

Selected choreographers will then need to advertise their audition.

Selected student choreographers will be assigned a rehearsal time and will audition for dancers during their assigned rehearsal time the week of February 8th through February 14th.

Student choreography will go through a second audition during the eighth week of rehearsal during their regular rehearsal time the week of April 6th through April 11th.

You will need to enroll in two classes to receive credit and to participate in the Spring Dance Concert: Dance Rehearsal workshop DANC 129-01 and Dance Performance Workshop DANC 133-60.

Concert dates are April 30th, May 1st & 2nd of 2020.
