Gonzalo Ruelas

Gonzalo Ruelas has been dancing for 22 years in the Salsa Scene. He originally started at an Intro to Latin Dance class at CSU Long Beach in his first year as an undergrad. He then joined various dance teams before he was asked to teach at a ballroom studio. There he studied Latin Dances and learned technique.ย He started directing dance teams with his dance partner in 2004, a team that later performed at various Salsa Festivals. His choreography continued to expand as he created Salsa Intocable in LA and worked with team of various Colleges. He has directed Salsa Dance teams for CSU Long Beach, CSU Northridge, El Camino College, San Diego State University and Southwestern College. 2 of those teams won the College Salsa Congress and the Collegiate Salsa Open competitions, while the others usually placed in the top 3.ย He teaches at Southwestern College and help various local Dance Companies as a substitute teacher when needed. His primary occupation is as a Middle School Visual and Performing Arts Teacher at High Tech Middle in Point Loma.
